Recall

WHAT IS THE RECALL

Pelican International has determined that certain Predator fishing boat models do not comply with U.S. Coast Guard “safe loading” and “flotation  and stability” standards. Specifically, the actual maximum weight capacity and maximum persons capacity (in pounds) do not meet the capacities as stated on capacity plate. Furthermore,   at   the   reduced   weight  capacities,   these   boats   do  not  meet  the applicable flotation and stability tests.   These noncompliances may present an increased   risk   of  capsizing,   and   potential   injury   or   drowning,   if   the   boat   is overloaded or swamped.

WHAT WILL PELICAN DO?

Pelican International will provide (free of charge) a remedy kit consisting of two containers of insulating polyurethane foam, along with repair instructions and a revised capacity plate.  Using simple tools, the foam material can be injected into the interior of the hull on each side of the boat, bringing the boat into compliance with the flotation and stability standards.
